Megabusive Vs. Top Ramen Battle

I was going through my tapes the other day and I found a tape I received in a trade titled "Megabusive Battles". I know I've listened to this tape plenty of times, but I completely forgot what was on it. After a quick listen I discovered this tape contained the infamous Megabusive Vs. Top Ramen battle that took place in Santa Cruz. I don't know if this is the entire battle, there is some random talking, freestyling and people hanging out before the show. At the start of the tape you can hear Megabusive and a young Joe Dub hanging out with friends quoting their favorite L.A rappers and mimicking their styles. The battle starts around the 19 minute mark and continues for the rest of side 1 and onto side 2. I would love to know what started this battle, where and when it took place and who else was around at the time.

Very - The Coffee Shop

I've always felt that this is one of the most slept on westcoast underground albums. Very is/was a member of the US Pros with Knows and Tim Sears and as a crew they released 3 albums. I have always had a hard time gathering info on the crew or any of its members, so if anyone out there wants to shed some light on what they have been up to it would be much appreciated. Very is still making music, he released his second solo album "Color" in 2010 and continues to work with Scarub in their group Afro Classics.

Emanon - Dawn's Second Coming

The first time I heard Emanon (Dj Exile and Aloe Blacc), was on the RocketShip Records Blastoff compilation and the track was called "Assume Not". After hearing their track I wanted more, but I knew nothing about the group or who was in it and the internet wasn't the amazing music database it is today. It wasn't until a few years later, I was working on a tape trade with someone, and based on some of the other tapes I was getting they recomended a mixtape by Dj Xile. They didn't tell me anything about it, what artists were on it or what it sounded like.

Spex - Canadian Sampler

This is a limited edition ep Spex released to promote himself on his visit to Canada in 2003. The sampler is 7 tracks deep, featuring remixes and guest apperances from Brewmasta and Insomniac. As you can expect, Spex handles the production, cuts and most of the raps.

Megabusive - Stealth Melters

I'm not sure if this should be considered a Megabusive solo album or not. IsolatedWax has it listed as a concept group project, however I have been unable to find any info about who was in the group. Any info on this release would be appreciated. 7 Tracks of westcoast underground raps, Enjoy.

1628 Factor - Not 4 The Money, The Low Cash Chapter

This crew went under my radar for a long time, until I had the pleasure of meeting Rolex at a birthday party in San Mateo sometime in 2001.  I was familiar with most of the crews solo work, just not this album. The next day I picked up a copy at Below The Surface and I have been a fan ever since. 1628 Factor is Spex, Jster, Brewmasta, Marcus R, Rolex and Rundown.
