Project Blowed Footage, Battles, And B-Boy Summit 99 Park Jam Footage

A few weeks ago I ripped a VHS tape labelled "Project Blowed Footage", I remember getting this tape in a trade but it's been 10 years since I watched it. If my memory is correct this tape came from a trader in Hawaii who always laced me with rare stuff. I don't know who filmed this, in some of the footage you hear two people talking about being in town from Hawaii. I would love to know who originally shot this and if there was anymore footage available.

I ripped this as best I could, but some of the footage is pretty rough, I guess spending 10+ years in a box caused the VHS tape quality to degrade. Check the Vimeo link to stream or download.

Zion I - New Dimensions

Shouts out to Jack Devo for posting the Zion I - Star ship tape, it reminded me of this old Zion I release I found a few years ago. I don't remember where I got it, but it was definitely from another blog posting good music. Shouts out to the original poster for hooking this up.

NgaFsh - Da Upgrade

Originally posted by Meeee over at Record Science in 2010.

"As Jack posted up some Afterlife stuff, I herewith post up one of my favorite Afterlife albums. I can remember in around 1999 or 2000 when I got into the CVE and found the Curbserver. At that time I had a very slow internet connection through an analogue modem patiently waiting until the download of a song was finished, which lasted around 15 minutes. Most of the downloads took longer, because there often was a connection failure or a time-out. Can you imagine? Most of the stuff that was downloadable from Curbserver was from this album. I can remember downloading the songs "Can you love a villain?", "Hot up in this club", "Do you love me?", "Killa Dealaz", "My minds on you", "Hold Yo Ground", "Role Model" and "Clockwork". So they offered most of the bangers from this album as a free download! But you can only find "Hey fish filet" on this album, a great track featuring Micole and Riddlore..."

King Koncepts - Project Ambershine

This tape has been posted on a bunch of different sites over the years and for good reason, it's one of my personal favorite underground tapes. I'm not going to post a link to download because the good people at Ghetto Tyylit posted it here, and Meeee from Record Science posted it here and both of their links are still active so make sure you cop it from one of them. I'm posting this tape because over the Christmas holidays I went back to my hometown and while looking through some old pictures and catching up with friends I was reminded of the first time I heard this tape.

I grew up in a small town with a decent hip hop scene, unfortunately there was no outlet to buy independent music, the closest store where you could buy anything from outside the top40 was 3 hours away in Vancouver. The internet was around and P-Minus was doing his thing with Atak mail order, but I was fresh out of high school stocking shelves at a grocery store and didn't have a credit card. Like most people in town I would hit up the record stores anytime I was in Vancouver to buy what I could and catch dubs from friends.

A friend had just come back from a trip to Vancouver and Seattle and while he was there he bought as much music as he could find, often not knowing anything about the artist and going by staff recommendations. Over the next few weeks I was able to dub a bunch of tapes from him, but I hadn't had a chance to sit down and listen to any of them so they were just sitting in my tape racks. Here's a pic of my tape collection from 2012, before I moved (again) and had to tear everything apart.
